Suggestion/Comment: Clean/Fix Bathrooms on Course
Response: We’ve fielded several complaints this year on the status of our on-course washroom and port-o-pottis. The issues include cleanliness, smell and not working properly. Unfortunately, the mechanisms of the washroom on #16 have not performed properly for several years. The company that constructed the washroom is now out of business and securing parts is an issue. The smell of washrooms can only be minimized due to the location of the holding tanks and cleanliness will be partly remedied by ensuring daily cleaning routines are followed.
Action: The staff will be doing their part in ensuring cleanliness. We’ve created a daily cleaning routine which includes a cleaning service visiting the washrooms prior to opening and members of our Greens and Pro Shop staff visiting the bathrooms throughout the day.
We are also sourcing out the possibility of constructing a new washroom on #16 and #4. We’ve looked at several different styles to ensure longevity, ease of functionality and acceptable appearance. Once quotes are received, we'll determine the timing of that best suits the club and if cost is viable to our operation. More communication to follow in the very near future.

Suggestion/Comment: The fan/ventilation in/on back 9 washroom not working – very hot in there.
Response: The fan inside the washroom runs on solar power with a battery backup. During consecutive days of excessive cloud cover, power that is provided to the fan may be weak or non-existent. Even when the fan is fully charged, when we receive several days of extreme heat, there’s insufficient power to maintain proper air circulation.
Action: We will source out the possibility of adding an additional fan to the washroom but in the meantime, on hot days, we ask that members prop the door open using the door stop when not in use. This will ensure proper ventilation during hot days. Signage will be displayed on the door reminding all players.
Suggestion/Comment: No cell phone or texting during match play. Can we ban cell phone use during match play?
Response: Our Cell phone policy which is communicated on the website in our member handbook is as follows:
“Cell phones should be placed on “silent alert” or “vibrate mode” when on course property, excluding the parking lot. The use of cell phones is prohibited inside the Stanley T’s Lounge and on the outside deck. Users are required to move onto the club grounds or into the hallways. On the golf course, users are required to respect fellow golfers and move off to a quiet area to make or answer a call.” Phones should be on silent mode when on the course”.
Action: More communication is required to assist in remedying this issue. Our operations team will ensure both members and guests are made aware.

Suggestion/Comment: Provide a walking path (second cut) from tees to fairways where applicable
Response: In 2014, we added a second cut bordering all fairways which has enhanced the appearance and playability of the course. We made the decision to not include walking paths from tees to fairways at this time for a few reasons. The majority of the holes on the course have a variety of tees and to make a walk path from every tee would be time consuming and look inconsistent. Also, many of our holes have cart paths and ditches that either cross or run adjacent to the potential walkway. We will retain and possibly act on this suggestion if it was required for an event where it is known what tees are being played.
Action: Continue with the first cut and not add walking paths at this time.
Suggestion/Comment: Golf course is in great condition overall, however, there are too many areas that need repair. I suggest that any area that was marked as GUR at the Member-Guest should be repaired immediately or as when time and labour allows.
Response: We have attempted to seed, soil and fertilize most areas that have been marked GUR this season. Many of these areas are either high traffic locations or areas that our single line irrigation doesn’t reach. It will take time for these areas to fill in depending on their location and consistency of water they receive.
These areas could have been sodded but unfortunately would require extra care during hot dry times. Due to limitations within our labour budgets, we must prioritize tasks and attention down the center of each hole. Sodded areas that are not a priority will be pushed down the list and may struggle without extra care that is needed. In the long run the seed will fill in and be stronger in the future.
Action: We will continue to seed, soil and fertilize these areas as time and labour allows.
Suggestion/Comment: Replace Portable washrooms on #4 with washroom like #16
Response: Your suggestion will be forwarded to the the appropriate Committee and we will look into the cost effectiveness of this option and discuss further.
Action: Look into possible constructions comparable to that on #16. Prepare feasibility study and determine if building cost is viable to our operation.
