Jon Anderson
PGA of Canada Professional
Head Teaching Professional
The Briars Golf Club
Hometown: Born and raised in Oakville, Ontario
Education: University of Western Ontario BA, McMaster University (part-time), PGA of America golf education, CPGA.
Career Highlights: Qualifying for our Canadian Championship (and keeping my scores in the 70’s), winning a senior long drive Championship (2012) and helping a student prepare for competitive tournaments after turning 50.
What’s in my bag: Henry Griffitts guy all the way (I previously was a custom club fitter for this U.S. company) except for my Ping Driver and Taylor Made putter.
One thing he couldn't live without on a deserted Island? My wife, of course. She is happy to fish all day and I’d never go hungry. I’d be the man on the beach building a castle and carving a golf club.
Personal Note: I've spent 20 years working in Oakville at Canada’s largest golf centre(Top 4 in Canada) and 16 years in Newmarket (Phoenix Hill/Northern Greens). Positions ranged from teaching part –time to running, owning and managing Golf Teaching Centres focusing primarily on golf education. Enjoys seeing people learn and improve especially when they thought it wasn’t possible. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you in the weeks ahead.
